MIG Welding
Metal Inert Gas or MIG welding is one of the most common welding techniques used in manufacturing being much easier to learn and requiring little post processing after welding is complete. In this type of welding, a high voltage is run through a consumable metal wire electrode that is continuously fed through the welder in order to heat and fuse together metals under a shielding inert gas–hence the name. We use MIG welding because not only is it an efficient and fast process, it’s also a cost-effective way to weld a wide variety of metals and has applications in a wide range of industries.
TIG Welding
Tungsten Inert Gas or TIG welding works similarly to MIG welding, but instead uses a non consumable tungsten electrode to heat and fuse metals while protecting the weld area with an inert gas. TIG welding is exceptionally precise and versatile, able to join a wide variety of metals, including aluminum, which is more difficult to weld with MIG. TIG welders provide excellent quality, highly exact control over heat input, very minimal spatter that would need to be cleaned or machined away later, and can create highly aesthetic welds as well.
